in the lobby of his residence ai 114-116 East 13th Street,
New Yori, New York (NY), at 21:20 p.m. At the time of his
arrest, HOFFMAN was acccmpanizd by his wife, ANITA HOFFMAN.
HOFFMAN was imnediately acwisec oF the charges against him,
_violation of Title 16, United States Code, fection 2101,
the Anti Riot Law Statute. Ismecixtely following this, HOFFMAN
was acvised of his rights es they appear on the "Interrogation;
Advice of Rights" form. HOFHNAR stated that he understocd his
rights but he would not sign tne "Waiverd Rights" section of
the "Interrogetion; Advice of Kights" form furnished hin.
It was observed that HCFFLAN's nose was covered with
awhite bandage avout four inches in length, HOFFMAN stated
that his nose was broken and nad sixteen stitches in it.
HOFFMAN stated that the injury to his nose was administered
to him by a “sadistic cop" in Washington, D.C. He also
stated that his nose had been treated in Washington, D.C. (<)

At 11:30 o.m., HOFFMAN was transported by automobile
from the site of the arrest to the New York Office (NYO) of
the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), 201 East 69th Street,
NY, NY. HOFFMAN and the agents urrived at the NYO at 11:50 Ppl fe
Between 11:50 p.m., Moy 5, 1972 and 12:36 a.m., May
6, 1971, HOFFMAN was stripped~s-arched, his property was
inventoried and he was fingerprinted and photographed. HOFFMAN
declined to be photographed wearing a hat (x)
At 12:36 a.m., May 6, 1971, HOFFWAN was removed from
the NyO for transportation to the Federal House of Detention,
