He related some of the incidents which resulted in sentences for some of the "Seven" for contempt of court. He criticized the jury for its verdict. He said that the jury did not even remember one line from any of the defendants’ remarks which led to the charges against them. Instead, the case was decided on the basis of their life styles. HOFFMAN stated the provisions of ‘the Federal statute orshibiting interstate travel to incite a riot ae VAM REY pad whee de wd ti ™, Ve VUE ea savy ped and expressed the opinton that the statute was unconsti- , tutional. He was critical of current drug abuse legislation because "it sends people to prison for smoxing flowers." { The existence of Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) sites was said by HOFFMAN to represent violence.
