Incident Report Ho. 1422-" The smoke trail had discontinued but there was o tail that had the appearance of a ribb about 5 or 6 feet long. At times the tail lengthened to almost 20 feet. While hoveriz 4t bad a burnt or dark brown appoarance, The tail had an opalescent grayish appearance with s dark line running down through the center of it, The main object was still graj metallic in color, The object was hovering about 5 or 6 feet above the road ina, -— completely atationary position. I went tovard the object and the object started moving southward as I moved toward it, When I got to within 53 feet of it, “the main object we about 4 to 6 feet from the chain link fence on the south side of the road, It moved ~ straight up to about 12 feet then described a horizontal movement southward across the fence, then it again moved straight up to about sixty feet where it again moved south over & light pole ani a willow tree. After it passed over the willow tres, it changed ite direction to the southeast. At this tim, cams along and I atopped him and asked him to observe it, He was unable to see the object at first ani I returned to the gatehouse to mike anothe report, @QQM continued his observation of the object and soon after I went into the gatehouse, Hightower sighted the object. The object was now asceniing at an angle about 45 degrees in a southeast direction, As it moved avay, it got larger in size ani again asewmed & pear or bladder shape. The object continued in this manner until it hea passed over the ridge south of Solway road and disappeared. About five minutes later, Capt. Zarzecki drove up and as he came down the road I remri that I wished it would show up again so he could ses it. We looked toward the ridge ani sav it agsin. The object was moving from west to east about 8 or 9 feet above the field south of the fence, Ita speed was about 15 to 20 miles per hour, I motioned for Capt. Zarzecki to hurry out of his car. He came over to where we were standing on the first island from the gatehouse. Capt, Zarrecki looked to where I pointed end saw the object immediately. At this time, the object was about 200 feot high ani ascending at about 45 degrees in a southeast direction. We saw it for about secomis before it disappeared at about 1,500 to 2,000 feet. It had a bladder or pear shape at thie time. In about five more minutes, GP b's saw it again about 20 degrees above the center island house, It had pear shape again and appeared to be about the same size ge a emall pear. The cbject was moving west at about 20 miles per hour. It continned west about 50 feet above the road until we lost it in the glare of the sun, This was 2h. Geo24+ 4&4. hares the lest time it appeared. Bone of us noticed any odor at any time. When I first saw the object diving, ite speed was very slow. It was mnch slover than ®@ plane could dive, On the 45 degree downward slant, it sloved even more. When it moved across the road, the speed was about 15 miles per hour, During the upward slant, the speed was much faster than the downmvard elant and it must have been increasing in size because as it drew avay, we could see it just as plainly and about the seme size &s when observed up close.
