Dr. Wilhelm Reich, following extensive investigation by the Food and Drug Administration, United States Department of Health, Education and Welfare, in May, 1956, was found guilty of contempt of court following the issuance of an Injunction harring interstate shipment of devices, ~ . : literature and promotional material regarding treatmenta by Reich of cancer and . other serious diseases, said devices having been described as worthless by the _ Food and Drug Administration. Following unsuccéssful appeal efforts, Reich was imprisoned on March 12, 1957.
