School Board President, DR, EDWIN L. RIPPY, said the
board's legal position on integration has been well defined. He sta’
the board would simply have to sit back and see what Judge DAVIDSON':
Opinion would be on the motion. ,
The motion was addressed to mene Attorney ANDREW THUSS,
who is critically i11, and DE. RIPPY sai d not know what effect
THUSS' illness would have on the court action. According to the
newspaper, the motion filed said "that both by positive action and
inaction the school board has required and permitted the schools in
Dallas to operate on a racially segregated basis for a period of tim
longer than necessary."
