UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION Cleveland, Ohio in Reply, Plaase Rafer to Fila No March 1, 1968 / RUMORS OF RACIAL VIOLENCE GROWING OUT OF ' DOUBLE HOMICIDE INVOLVING RIVAL MOTORCYCLE GROUPS, CLEVELAND, OHIO, FEBRUARY 28, 1968 D The Cleveland "Plain Dealer", February 29, 1968, edition, carried an article captioned, "Cycle Gang War Ends in Deatt. of Innocent Victims". This article stated that ROOSEVE.”?“BROWN, age 38, a Negro, and JAMES 0. TILLETT, age 8, APPROX 38, a white, were shot down in the early morning hours of “ February 28, 1968, at Barto's Cafe, 3344 East 93rd Street, Cleveland, Ohio. The article stated that they were innocent ——— “victims of a blossoming gang war between members of the 7 Hell's Angels and God's Children. The article went on to say that the two victims were shot by members of the Hell's Angels gang who were out ‘Ll niig for members of the local chapter of God's Children. According to the article the cause of the gang war was the effort of the Hell's Angeles to organize a Cleveland Chapter of the gang, which is headquartered in California, and is supposedly militantly anti-Negro. The God's Children gang, an interracial gang which supposedly claims the Eastern United States as its territory, is violently opposed to the organizing efforts of the Hell's Angels in Cleveland.
