E., wearing a denim jacket with flamboyant
white letters spelling out “Gypsy Jokers’ on
the back, made the statement soberly and
thoughtfully as he sat on a wooden bench in the
King County Courthouse Tuesday.

Wainer, charged aiong with nine other m
the Seattle motorcycle gang following a free-swingin
melee at Pine Lake Monday, had just posted $50 bail
aiter spending the night in the county jail.
WALKER, an electrician who describes himself as
president of the Seattle motorcycle club, denied accounts
that the motoreyciists sterted the fracas by making
advances to women picnickers at the resort.
“Some of the tuys joked with some of the girls,"
said James Sioniker, 23, also of 417 Eastlake Ave. E.,
anotier member of the motoreycle outfit, “But thera
was nothing to it.”

Joyce Eliis, 23, of 417 Eastlake Ave. E., were taking
a stroll when they were sutrounded by a group of
picnickers. _
“PEEY TOLD US wa couldn't go by there,” Sionlker
recounted, “The next thing I knew I had « bottle up
side of my head. The guy that cut me wide oven wasn't
charged. All we ever used was our fists.”
Sleniker, Walker and eight other members of the
“Gvosy Joxers” were charged with disorderly conduct
in Issaduah District Justice Court. Miss Ellis was not
charged.
Sloniker was treated for his wounds at King County
Hospital Monday night before being booked at the coun-
ty jail. .
One of two picnickers also scnt to the hospital by
the melee was stih in Overlaka Hospital Tuesday with
a fractured jaw cond head euts.
VERN L. GAINES, 24, of 10212-7th Pl. SW, said
from his hospital bed that he saw members of the
- motorcycle gang using beer bottles in the fight.
Teddy L. Argraves, 24, of 30592-55th Ave. S., Auburn,
also injured in the fight, was discharged from Overlake
- Hospital Tuesday morning. Argraves and Gaines were
attending a company picnle when the trouble erupted.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Northwest Motor-
cycle Association hastened to disassociate his group .

Bill McDonell, publie relations direc
sociation, said:
they do not even exist. We don't condone this sort of
action. It gives us all a bad name.”
McDonell said members of his association engage
in blood donation drives, fund-raising projects and other
worthwhile charitable activities.
Sheriff's Lt, Richard Christie said investigation of
the Pine Lake incident is continuing.
He said that contrary to some reporis no we
were confiscated from the motorcyclists.
Sloniker and Walker said there are about 12 mem-
bers of the “Gypsy Jokers” in Seattle. He said the
club was chartered about threes months ago by a group
of the same name in San Francisco,
