1964, Greeley, Colorado, a.m., and the letter was comprised
of cutout letters from a magazine pasted on plain white
paper, which reads as follows:
"Tf you know what's good for you cancel Denver —
engagement. I'11 be in the audience and I'm going
to throw a hand grenade instead of jelly babies. a
"Beatle Hater"
further advised that this letter 70
had been handled by all personnel of the Chief's Department
as w21l as other executive officers of the Denver Police
Department. — -

able the above-described letter and advised that the Denver
Police Department will have approximately 200 police officer
assigned to handle the crowd when The Beatles perform and
that they are all being advised of the receipt of this
letter. He further advised that the Jefferson County Sheriff's
Office, Golden, Colorado, was also supplying police personnel
to handle the crowd. He stated that the Sheriff has not been .,
advised of the receipt of this letter. 4

Academy, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Golden, Colorado,
was advised regarding the receipt of this letter at which time
he stated he was supplying approximately 50 police personnel
to assist the Denver Police Department in handling the crowd
when The Beatles appear at the Red Rocks Amphitheater and he
will advige them regarding receipt of this letter.

On August 18, 1964, Assistant United States Attorney
JAMES A. CLARK, Denver, Colorado, was contacted and advised of
the details of the receipt of this letter threatening The Beatles
