LEE SUBJECT: DEBRA KENT MISSING PERSON Since the inception of the investigation concerning the disappearance of DEBRA KENT and the murder of MELISSA SMITH, regular and frequent contact has been maintained with officers of the Salt Lake County SO, principally who has been heading a coordinated investigatio enforcement agencies in this area. On 2/21/75, advised that inquiry has appeared to reach a dea there have been no recent leads in either of the two cases which appear to offer any good potential as regards the identi- fication of the unknown subject responsible for the death of MELISSA SMITH. It is contemplated that in the course of regular contact with sheriff's deputies, this matter will be followed in an informal manner but it is recommended at this time that both cases be placed in a closed status as there is no direct inquiry remaining to be completed by this office.
