(AP) — Searchers donned ski-racing bibs to identify themselves, and officials used specially trained dugs to comb neighboring hills Wednesday for Theodore R. Bundy. who escaped from the Pitkin County | Courthouse. “We've had no new leads, nothing at | all, to indicate where he might be,”’ said a sheriff's department spokeswoman. Bundy, 30, is charged with the January 1975 slaying of a vacationing Michigan nurse, He escaped during a recess jn a pretrial hearing by ieaping from a second-floor window Tuesday. About 150 persons conducted a house- to-house search in Aspen: and sur- rounding areas Wednesday. Officials concentrated their search within a 20-mile radius of this Rocky Mountain - resort town, still insisting that Bundy, was in the area. Cancel School Sessions - Officials also canceled school in Aspen Wednesday. The sale of guns and ammunition has heen banned in the area since his escape Tuesday. Roadblocks remained up around this Rocky Mountain resort town and on major highways as far as 9 miles away. . The former law student was charged with lirst-degree murder in the death of Caryn Campbell of Dearborn. Mich. Her nude, frozen body was found beside a rural ruad a month after she disappeared. A one-time worker for the Republican party in Washington, Bundy was extra- dited from Utah to stand trial here.
