I feel a personal anger'in this for my husband was with the Department of Justice for 30 years and has a special citation from it.: You have my sympathy, and my support, just as you. have them from millions | of other Americans. It was not your fault, nor the fault of the Secret Service, that Mr. Kennedy was murdered. Probably the FBI and the Secret Service had been given orders to "watch" the conservatives, and not a known Communist. One wonders what kind of sinister men surrounded Mr. Kennedy, so that he was assured he was safe from the Communists in America, Last spring I received a violent leaflet suggesting that Mr. Kennedy jve "lynched," from Lincoln Rockwell, whose recent letter to me is enclosed. Now, I know very well, and so do other people ~ one who is writing a book about it - that Rockwell is an agent provogateur of the Communist Party USA. In fact, his lieutenant, Seth Ryan, has been secretly photographed in the very close and amiable company of Gus Hall, the notorious Communist. The man who is writing the book - and including documents and photographs - is Joe.E. Kamp, who was always a strong conservative. And my husband, as I wrote you before, knew from his long experience in the Department the Com- munist jargon and terminology/fhat the language Rockwell uses in his dirty little sheets is purely Communistic. I sent the leaflet, which urged the murder of the President, to the Attorney General in Washington, and I gave him full information as to Rock- well's real supporters, which includes the Anti-Defamation League, whatever that is. I told the Attorney General that Rockwell was an agent provocateur of the Communist Party USA. A certain Oran Waterman, of the Department of Justice in Washington wrote me a very cold“article’advising me to study the First Amendment to the Constitution which guarantees freedom of speech and publication! In short, Rockwell, the crypto-Communist, had every right to suggest the murder of the President. I thought there were laws prohibiting the urging of mortal attack on anyone. It seems I was mistaken. As a famous novelist I am the target of Communist and Leftist liter- ature published all over the country. Now, Democrats and Republicans can cheerfully or indignantly attack each others’ Administrations - and their own - but this is not true of the Liberal/Leftist/Communist combine. Their slightest complaint is dangerous - and they have long been dissatisfied with Mr. Kennedy .f They thought he'd overthrow our Constitution and set up a Soviet dictatorship.
