CG 62-7265 By "JUNE" airtel dated 4/17/72 under the | GR: aption Chicago set forth results of inquiry regarding the address in question and requested Bureau authority to conduct a survey to determine the feasibility of a MISUR installation. Authority to conduct the survey was granted in Bureau airtel dated 4/21/72. Chicago airtel dated 5/1/72 set forth results of a survey conducted 4/28/72 involving an extremely brief entry. Chicago recommended against installation of a MISUR but noted a TESUR was feabible. A subsequent request for TESUR was rejected since one could not be justified merely for the purpose of apprehending fugitives. A nine point summary of pertinent data follows: 1. Date of entry - 4/28/72. 2. Location and nature of premises entered - A second floor apartment in a conve ood frame house located a hicago, Tliinois. 4. The group which was target of this inquiry was the Weatherman underground. 5. The purpose of the entry was to conduct a survey to determine feasibility of MISUR coverage. 6. The survey determined a MISUR was not feasible. No materials were obtained. Entry was very brief. 7. No organization other than the FBI participatec 8. Approval for the survey was given in Bureau airtel dated 4/21/72. Identify of approving Bureau official unknown in Chicago although recollection not supported by records indicated Assistant Director MILLER, Division 5, desired survey made. Field office approval was handled
