me Perhaps you have seen recent mention in the 4 press about the FBI and its policies on internal security - an . and by internal security we mean our efforts to protect | you and other Americans from -the foreign spy, the saboteur, the urban guerrilla, the terrorist. The media has recently an FBI term relating to certain aspects of internal security. When we-talk about internal security, the FBI's position - and my position personally - is that we must never allow any subversive group of té~rorists or individuals advocating violence to bring this great Nation to its knees. I am confident that you too agree with me. America must be ready, able, and willing, at all times, as a democratic nation, to protect its own integrity, independence and freedoms. No terrorist group, or organization threatening ‘Violence, should ever be allowed to subvert our historic principles of free government. - The FBI's position is to forthrightly, honestly, and within the bounds of our laws, protect our country from the predatory attacks of those who are not bound by legal scruples or by loyalty to our country. This has always been f the FBI's position. It is the FBI's position today.
