State Republican Watson - Washburn, a distinguished lawyer who POTN Eisembowes to the hilt in both his White House campaigns, He wrote the Frasident: "One of the most shocking indecenies serpots Sy d by the Roosevelt- Trunan Administrations was the degradation of the Ny. Supreme Court, The people confidently expected you to rectify this shameful situation, I hope you are as shocked as they certainly are by your calamitous failure. Your appointee as Chief Justice quickly and permanently allied himself with the two left wing, extremists, Black and Douglas. In 1952, it seemed impossible that the court could sink any lower in the estimation of lawyers and laymen; but since you took office it has done so.
