FBI furnish certain portions of fret Handbook for
Special Agents‘ and/or "Manual of Instructions.”
I understand you are interested in the
sections of our written instructions which set forth
our procedures regarding custodial interrogation of
a suspect being questioned as to his guilt. Also,
specifically, you are desirous of locating any
instructions which would indicate that it is the
FBI's policy not to attempt to secure a waiver of
a suspect's Miranda rights after he has once
indicated that he Wishes to assert any of those
rights, particularly the right to vemain silent.
In response to your question concerning our
general procedures regarding custodial interrogation
of a suspect and your specific request for certain
eecti s of the “FBI Handbook for Special Agents* and
