Tamm advised of his conversation with Frank Waldrop yesterday and of the article appeering in the morning Herald on the editorial page relative tofretirement; thet Mr. Waldrop stated that he would take care of the/Copeland Bill. Mr. Hoover requested Mr. Tamm to have a copy of the -afdrementioned editorial on his desk in order that he may write Mr. Waldrop 4a note and also Mr. Corby in New York. ~- - Mr. Tamm advised of the article in thd Washington Post relative to reorganization in the Government in the interest of economy and efficiency. Ve Mr. Tamm advised of tnoterticie appearing in thefiicr York Daily Mee g relative to the arrest of two prostitutes by Mr. Dewey. Mr. Tamm advised oF ihe publicity given the Bureau in this article. Mr. Hoover stated that he a’ * thought the morning paper would be the best means of getting the story out. L! mr. Hoover requested Mr. Tamm to prepare a deteiled story and then contact Mr. Hoover stated that he is leaving Florida on Saturday, > “arriving in Washington on Smday noon. Ir. Hoover atated that it would ~ be ail right to hoid one of the robbers until the other one is taken into x @ustody. TO Mr. Tamm told My.,Hoover that he now has the second report of Agents in the}Puerto Rio matter. Mr. Tamm advi of the letter e report contaibing the letter written by Mr. Tamm read the letter to the Director. Mr. Soover steted that this letter should be contained in the Bureau report; that a copy of the report should be sent to the Supurre Ce and ae the Criminal Division.
