Smith- Connally Act which forbids contributions to political campaigns by labor unions. The above named mon wero elected i by the use of dpoticgesa money and for that renson alone should not be seated, During the early stages of the recent campaisn, Senator E. E. Moore of Cklishoma wrote a letter to Attorney General Biddle, asking for an opinion as to the lew relating to this matter, It had been the unbroken habit of the attorneys general not to give legal opinions on such a matter, However, after some delay Attoraey General Biddle did reply te the letter of Senator Moore and avt forth his opinion that up to that time the P A C had not violated the Federal Corrupt Practicas Act, nér the Hatch Act, nor the Smith-Connally Act. It is not acess sary for m: to point out that you are not bound by this opinion of Attorney Gonergl .
