The Chief Justice furnished no additicnal information other
than that possessed at the present time by the Bureau, but indicated
thet he desired two points in particuler to be stressed in the investi-
gation, first, if, in fact, ade any overtures Se
or to any individuals relative to selling or making use of advance or=
mation of Supreme Court decisions, end second, that inasmuch eG ves
not in a position from his employment to secure this infornetion, whe, if
any, person or persons were acting in collusion with him, the second per-
son being in a position to secure advance copies of the decisions to be
handed down.
The Chief Justice requested that the two Agents keep him in-
formed from day to day of the progress of the investigation, end he in-
dicated that he was quite concerned about the matter as it reflected upon
the integrity of the Court and its employees. He particularly desired
to be informed this day at 4:30 P.M. of the results of the inv =
