WILLIAMALLEN 1 - Mr. Bishop 1 - Mr. Casper 1 - Mr. Sullivan Washington Field Office, advised that this Im Uiited States Supreme Court in an eight to nothing decision writt Jey Mr. Justice Black ruled that a man can lose his right to remain in court if his conduct is such that it disrupts the court. The ruling was handed down in a State of Dlinois case involving William Allen, who had been convicted for armed robbery and sentenced to ten to thirty years. During his trial, Allen was abusive toward the judge and was warned that his conduct would result in his being removed from the court. W! ha narcictasa hha erence wae ere Ah ne persisted, née was removed but allowed back if he would behave himself. When he continued his abuse, he was removed from the courtroom during his trial. He filed a writ of habeas corpus in the United States District i alleging he had been denied his right to remain in the courtroom during his trial. The United States District Court denied his writ, and the United States tth Circuit Court of Appeais reversed the District Court. The case was then is a Ps jremanded to the United States Supreme Court.
