She said many of these letters were very abusive and accused ALLEN of being a Communist. Some of these letters were signed, while others were not. On 10/11/60, ALLEN received a one-page typewritten letter postmarked 10/10/60, at Los Angeles. This letter com- mences: "My name is HARRY GOREN. I live at 1802 Redondo Boulevard, Los Angeles." In this letter, the author says he has only a short time to live, so he looked around to see what he could do heforé he died which would benefit society. He said he found he could exterminate some of the fifth column filth and out of a blue sky comes the name ALLEN. The writer then says, "That is why I write to you, Mr. Communist ALLEN....call it a joke if you wish....but let me tell you this: I have nothing to lose by taking my revolver, going down to your home and....to your office....and, on the whim, firing two or three bullets into the head of the biggest liar, cheat, humbug and Communist in this country...." The writer continues, "This is not a request, but a demand, that you abolish your Commie activities within the next FOBR DAYS. Repeat: FOUR DAYS.
