On Wovember 14, 1962, STANLEY LEVISON had a dis-
cusSion with "LOTTIE" KUNTSLER, wife of New York attorney
WILLIAM KUNTSLER, ts. KUNTSLER stated that she had heard
that there was a story in a New Orleans, Louisiana, newpaper
to the effect that JACK O'DELL (HU'ITER PITTS O'DELL) had
resigned from the SCLC, LEVISON advised Mrs, KUNTSLER
that JACK O'DELL has cenied any active participation in the
CP and offered to resign from the SCLC in order to avoid
any embarrassment to that organization. LEVISON stated that
he believes MARTIN LUTHER KILiG and the SCLC are holding the
resignation in abeyance because they first wanted a con-
ference with the newspaper carrying the story that C'DELL
had been active in the CP.
