NY 100-111180 ne ‘ It is to be noted that LEVISON attended St, Johns Law School from the period 1935 to 1939. With respect to the American Law Students Association, the Sunday edition of the "New York Times", dated December 27, 1936 on Page 10, Column 1, under the heading "Society Formed By Law Students” set forth the following: “The American Law Students Association,’ designed to deal with legal, ethical, social and econonic problems affecting law school students, was formed yesterday by students from the Law schools of Columbia University, some tee Of Teh e TT FW eK Tee De ee New YorkE Univer sity, Ste gohnns University, and oroociyn Law School in this city, and Harvard and Yale, "During their three hour meeting in the Bar Association Building, the students showed greatest interest in the economic difficulties that are confronting them as law clerks and as young lawyers, Suggestion of a minimum ~ wage for clerks brought a withdrawal for the St. Johns Student Council. Assurance that the organization would , take no stand at present on & minitmum wage brought the Council back in, and THOMAS W. LA VENIA, President of “the St, Johns Council was elected Vice President of the new organization, - .
