MEMORANDUM VN 45 Aid LES Levison, apparently in reference to the above-mentioned Strike of hospital workers in Charleston, expressed the opinion that it was time for people to begin going to jail and to institute a national boycott. _—- On June 13, 1969, the installation furnished data regarding a discussion involving Levison in which mention was made of the necessity of having the Federal Government sponsor the proposed Martin Luther King Memorial Center. During the discussion, mention was made of a letter to be ——~—— sent to President Nixon by King's widow pertaining to Government support to this center and Levison indicated he was in favor of sending the letter and moving the issue “into an arena of struggle."
