Stanley Levison APPENDIX NATIONAL COMMITTEE TO ABOLISH THE HOUSE UN-AMERICAN ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE The "Guide to Subversive Organizations and Publications” issued December 1, 1961, by the Committee on Un-American Activities, U. S. House of Representatives, page 115, contains the following citation regarding the National Committee to Abolish the Un-American Activities Committee (NCAUAC). "Cited as a 'new organization! set up in the summer of 1960 to lead and direct the Communist Party's ‘Operation Abolition' campaign. Seven of the national leaders of this group have been identified as Communists. (Committee on Un-American Activities, House Report 1278 on the Truth About the Film ‘Operation Abolition,’ Part 1, October 3, 1961, p. 5.)" A source has advised that the NCAUAC changed its name on March 3, 1962, to include the word “House" in its name, thereby becoming known as the National Comittee to Abolish the House Un-American Activities Committee, i ee i en ee on ok 7, Dd
