these tactics. King stated that he had made it very clear

Levison told King thet he had a discussion with
Clarense Jones, Chief Counsel, Ghandi Society of Human
Rights, concerning setting up temporary educational
facilities for the expelled students and going to the
public and to prominent individuals, to ask for contributions

Levison tnen suggested that King write a book
concerning his experiences in Birmingham. Levison indicated
thet King had previously discussed writing a paperback
book in collaboration with New York Attorney_wWilliam.
Kunstler, but Levison feels that Kunstler is attempting
to make a Joint venture out of the book and this is not
fair to King as King should be the only recipient of

Levison informed King that Negro writer Ossie
Davis had told Levison that he would be glad to assist
ing in a few weeks when he finishes a movie script he is
working on, Levison stated Davis would anly want a fee
for his work, and that the book published simultaneously
in elothbound and paperback editions would sell 290, 000
to 200, 2000 copies. Levison stated it would be "a sure —
