Mr. Henry Petersen, Assistant Attorney General, Criminal
Division, that is to say, the investigation regarding
Vice President Agnew is an Internal Revenue Service matter
and no investigation is requested of the FBI.

Special Agent in Charge Edward F. Foley of our Baltimore office,
contacted me to advise that U. Ss. Attorney Beall requested that
the FBI. give polygraph examinations to several indviduals
regarding an Internal Revenue Service investigation, and this

desires of the Attorney General and Assistant Attorney General
Petersen. Subsequent arrangements were made to have Special
Agent Pearce of our Philadelphia office report to Baltimore to-
