During the appearance of Vice-President Agnew in Columbus,
on 5/9/72, demonstrators gathered near his vehicle and apparently someone
threw a missile at the limousine causing a fracture in the rear window.
An FBI investigation was immediately initiated under the Presidential
Assassination Statute and the Cincinnati Office requested that the broken bé
window be examined by the FBI Laboratory. b7C
The Bureau was subsequently advised that the limousine had been
flown to Japan for use by the Vice-Presi ance there.
Arrangements were made through S U. & Secret
Service liaison,to advise the Bureau when the limousine had been returned

Yesterday afternoon the Bureau was advised that the mousing) “%
was available for examination at the U. S. Secret Service garage at NX
1310 L Street, N.W. SA Richard W. Flach of the Physics and Chemistry Q
Section conducted a preliminary examination of the break in the window ™
and photographs were taken. It is the intent of the Secret Service to
replace this window and arrangements were made to make the window %
available to the Laboratory for detailed examination following its removal. N})
