Stagehané Union
. In 1960 information was received by the Chicago Office
concerning the picke*ing of the Wocds Theater in Chicago by the
Stagehands Union. The information received from the Chicago
Office was that a telephone call had been made by KORSHAK to
the attorney representing the Stagehands Union, indicating that
the picket line around this theater should be called off and
had used curse words t) aescrive the members of the Stagehands
Union. The attorney for the Stagehands Union expressed the
opinion that there was justification for the picket line and
in turn received a second call from an individual suggesting
that the picket line be removed and indicated that this call was
made since SIDNEY had called him. The law firm representing
the theater in this particular case was not represented by
KORSHAK's law firm. As an outgrowth of this matter, the National
Labor Relations Board was successful in obtaining an injunction
against the Stagehands Union, and the informant of the Chicago
Office indicated that up until this time they had been quite
unsuccessful in obtaining such an injunction.
