For eny one who says MeCarthy must give the proof that those men are communist agents, let me tell you now thst will be impossible for me individually to do. I am willing to rely upon the evaluation made of those individuals by the F, B, I, «hen the Fureau sendsa chart to the State Departrent saying these men are agents of the communist party, I am satisfied that they unquestionably either are agents or so close to the category of agents, that under no circunstences should they be retained i in the Department. The Senate will ncte that the number listed by the F. B. I. as agents, communists, suspects, ete., and retained by the State Depertment was 106, The Senate will also recall that I first gave the ccnmittee &i names and later on an additional 25, making a total of 106. I want to make it clear, however, that the fact the State Department retained 106 named by the F, B, I. and the fact that I gave the committee a list of a 106 is merely a coincidence, The 106 names on the FP. B. I. list are not identical to the 106 names which I gave to the committee. The 3 zo mentioned whom the F. 8.
