We both advised him that we could not do this tha;
would be a very bad procedure; that the FBI should not be -6/ part
to reviewing the State Department's files prior to the time that
they were made available to a Senate Committee by the President.
He then suggested that the Bureau might go through its own files
cheching the material which has been sent to the State Department
and checking to see if there are any names which the Bureau desired
to be blocked out as undesirable for the Committee to se@.
