Edward Teller was born January 15, 1908, at Budapest, Hungary,
and his wife, Ure, Augusta Herkanyt Teller, was born April 30, 1909, in
the same city. Both became naturalized citizens of the United States on
Mareh 43 1941, at Washington, D. 6. ‘Information has been received fron “
& confidential informant that one Edward Teller had been on the roaster of —
teachers at, the Oommuniat Workers School, New York City, in 1941, teaching
Political Economy, Warxiea, loniniens and the Kietory of the Communist Farty
of the Soviet Union. Dr, Edward Teller was interviewed in January, 1949,
condeming the possibility of his being identical with the Edward Teller who
was listed on the 1941 roster of the teachers at the Workers School, and he
emphatically denied that he way identical with this individual, He stated
that he had abboiutely no backgrouhd or qualifications which would entitte
him to teach any of the subjects listed by the Werkers Saheol. He stated
that he was in New York City in Septenber, 1941, and that he taught at
Columbia University from that tine until June, 1942. The photograph of
Dr, Teller waa displayed te various informants, who identified his photou
graph se that of a man seen by the informants on various oseasions at the
headquarters of the Gomsnist Party Workers School, New York City, during
the early part of 1942, One tnformant identified hia photograph as being
that ef a person who taught at the Workera Scheol in 1941. It was reported
on Hareh 15, 1950, that a very confidential source close to the Tellier
family bad received information to the effect thet Mre. Teller had remarked
