Association for the Advancement of Colored People" set out the activitie:
of Roy Wilkins, executive director, during the period 6/28/66 to
7/30/67. He was scheduled to speak or spoke at numerous NAACP affairs
in California, Louisiana, Ohio, Mississippi, Massachusetts, Missouri, an
Georgia. On NBC's "Meet "The Press" he backed the use of troops “in
riots. On one occasion he sent a letter to the Director appealing for
contributions. It was also mentioned that the CP hoped that Wilkins cow!
be pressured into sponsoring an anti-Vietnam stand, Wilkins did not
advocate black power but rather peaceful integration of all races.
