Gcreral Contacts With The Bureau:
Wilkins’ contacts over the years with the Bureau have been very :
lurifcc. You (Mr. DeLoach) have spoken with him on several occasions. These
ccutacis are set out separately in this memorandum under contacts with you. .
In the absence of Walter White of the NAACP, Wilkins did write to the
iNsestor on 9-10-47 in connection with a "so-called Robeson incident in Peoria,
Diinois, in April, 1947." He requested investigation concerning this matter. The
saatter had already been furnished to the Attorney General. By letter dated 8-14-53,
ilkins wrote to the Director to merely acknowledze receipt of a letter the Director
