The news iten concerned statenents made by Roy Wilkins, Erecutive Secretary of the NAACP regarding an AP report which quoted Senator McClellan as stating on 4-21-57 that the FBI had made a check on NAACP sponsored witneases who had appeared before the Senate-“Judiciary Sub-= committee On 2828-57 and had committed perjury. It was indicated that Roy Wilkina had sent the Senator a telegran on 403-57 questioning the accuracy of his statement and on 4-1-57 Wilkins had tssued a statement concerning the matter.
