By letter dated 9-10-47 Foy Wilkins wrote to the Director concerning the "so-called Robeson incident in Peoria, Illinots, last April." Wilkins advised that the WAACP had recetved a copy oj a letter dated 9-6-47, sent to the Director by Ur. OC. Az Hazelwood, Vice President of the Peoria chapter of the HAACP. Wilkins stated he was supporting Hr. Hazel- wood's request for an investigation of the allegations nade concerning Hazelwood's connection with Paul Roheson's appear- ance in Peoria, Il.
