The "Richnond News Leader" on 1]]~5-¢5 carried
an erticle reorrcing the meeting of the Tenth Firginia State
Conference of the ii4C™ which was held Nov. 2,3, 1945 at
Fifth Street Baptist Church in Richmond, Va. According to
the article, Roy Wilkins Assistant srecutive Secretary of
the NAACP and Editor of the "Crisis" spoke on the subject
‘What the Negro is Up Against, Now That the War Is Over.”
Wilkine declared the returning Negro veteran would not be
satisfied with the"same old deal." He assured the assembly
that the NAACP planned to expand its program of activity for
elimination of discrimination and all other inequalities
affecting the Negro.
