Press had said the FBI is investigating the matter. She asked for comment.
BACKGROUND:
On 3-11-54 an officer of the Brockton, Massachusetts, Police
Department turned over to the Boston Office of the FBI a handprinted
letter postmarked Glen Olden, Pennsylvania, 3-9-54, addressed to Perrino
Marchegiano, Dover Street, Brockton, Massachusetts. The latter is the
father of world heavyweight. champion Rocky Marciano..ohe letter stated.

little chance to beat Rocky, and the writer said he was familiar with
the Brockton area.

. Principals in the matter, Including’Al Weill, Rocky's manager,
were interviewed by the Bureau. “Weill in turn gave to the New York
Office two additional letters containing threats and said also he had
received several phone calls during the first two weeks in March threaten-
ing death to both Rocky and himself. We are still investigating the c
