MC AVOY was accused of cupport- ing Left Wing groups and this fund was raised by the New York Conference for Inalienable Rights for MC AVOY'S © legal defense in this charge. The Special Committee on Un-American Activities Report, Harch 29, 1944, page 149, stated the following concerning the New York Conference for Inalienable Rights: "Cited as a Communist front. It called a conference on February lj, 1941 at Mecca Temple, New York City 'to attack anti-sabotage legislation and the Rapp-Coudert Committee investigating subversive activities in the New York Public School System".
