The article stated that the statement.called’
for a “return to reason", which, it said, "is not a .
measure of appeasing the Soviet Union". _ ~
Further quoted from the above statement was
the following, "We hold no preference for the Soviet
system, nor do we wish to defend every facet of Soviet
policy.”
