The Attorney Generel advised on Saturday morning that he.’
| was going to Las Vegas on Monday with General Maxweli-Ttaylor to view —-—
an atomic detonation, He stated that General Taylor through the Army
had made reservations for them to stay at the Thunderbird Hotel in.
Las Vegas. The Attorney General wanted to know the reputation of
this hotel. I told him that from memory this establishment is not
one of the more notorious spots, but the gamblers, of course, played
a prominent role in practically all of the Las Vegas hotels. I told
the Attorney General that a memorandum would be prepared for hin
jj concerning this hotel which we would get over to him Monday morning.
He said this was fine since he wasn't ieaving for Las Vegas until
late Monday afternoon.
"ACTION BEING TAKEN:
The memorandum for the Attorney General is being expedited
‘and will be submitted for the Director's approval first thing
Monday morning, July 16, 1962.
