A while baek (I do not know the exact issue, but believe Was during June, July or early August) the book "Black Boy" was publicized, with vivid picturization, in "Life" Magazine; and im September 29th issue of "Liberty* Magazine, there wa @ & eondensation of the Dook-ewith special men- tiom om the front eover of the magazine. By strange irony, thie issue of "Liberty" whieh eontained the eondensaticr of the racially inflammatory book "Black Boy"---éieplayed on the front eover of the magazine the pieture of ar eturning United States soldier greeti salute, the Statue of Liberty in New Yor Wi k harbor. 1 Granting that the megro called Richard Wright actually wrote the book, it . is my opinion that all the publieity given to the book is being financed-~eit: | by some person or organization--fcr propaganda purposes: to fam the flane ied of dissension and seditious discontent.
