Mr, Candler described Betty Gow as follows:
Age - 28 yrs.
Height - 5'4}*"
Weight - 120 lba.
Complexion - Medium
Zyes = Color unknown
Hair - Color unknown
Occupation ~- Frivate nurse, out of employment at that time.
Mr. Candler further stated that the only associates of
Scotty Gow at thet time that he knows of were Fitznatrick (first
hams unknown), whose father was Captain of the Palmer Park Police
Station in Detroit, Michigan, and Firpo (first name unknown).
Mr. Candler stated that Scotty Gow was a member of the

femous*¥Purple Geng which terrorized Detroit several years, and that

he thought there might be a possibility that Betty Gow, sister of
Scotty Gow, is the nuree for the Lindbergh baby, and if so, there
is some possibility that Seotty Gow and some of his associates might
have some connection with the kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby.
Mr. Candler stated that his connections with the Ford
Motor Company were severed about one and one-half years ago, be-
cause he had secured some important information involving some high
officials of the Ford Ccmpany, and that he "knew too much” and hia
services wera therefore discontinued.
Mr. Candler stated thet he had just made connections with
the Mickelberry Food Produeta Company, and that he was to leave in
the next day or so ona selling trip into Northern Michigan.
Mr. Candler stated that he did not believe that Seotty Gow
was prosecuted for steéling the merchandise in the case which he in-
vestigated. He stated that he merely obtained information on the
case and then turned whatever information he had obtained over to
Mr. Bennett, head investigator of the Ford liotor Company, and that
generally no one would know what disposition was made, as the Ford
Motor Company would take ite own action, Mr. Candler further stated
that it may be possible that there was no criminal prosecution in
this case for the further reason that Fitzpatrick, who was also in-
volved with Gow, was the son of a police captain. He further stated
