total average slightly under A. The records also indicated
that this applicant hed experienced no trouble whatever in
contact with school authorities, but on the other hand, dur-
ing the two years he attended there, his merit record was
anong the highest, averaging betweén $4 and ©9 for the 2 years
out of a possible 100 merit points. .
AT WHITTIES, CALIFORNIA
The records of the Whittier High School were also
checked by the writer, these also indicating this applicant to
have been an outstanding student in that school. His scholar-
ship was slightly under A for all subjects and he was con-
sidered one of the highest in the school. It was pointed out
that this applicant was partioularly outstanding in the ac-
tivities of the Whittier High School and was chosen by the
high school to represent it in oratorical contests and in
speeches before service clubs at Whittier.
The records of the Whittier College were also |
checked, indicating applicant was a student there from Sep-
tember 1930 to dune 1984, at which time he received an A.B.
Degree with a major in History.
The records of all of these schools substantiated
applicant's date of birth as being January 9, 1913.
Whittier
College, pointed out that for the first year applicant's aver-
age was B,for all subjects; second year, B=-Plus, and thet in
his final two years his average nearly equalled A. This would
place him far above the average of students attending this
colleges. , ,
