On 9-18-51, the Washington Afro-American (D. Ce Negro newspaper)
carried a story on pages 1 and 2, headlined "ROBESON DENIED PASSPOhT TO RED
CHINA." Qn page 2, colum h, ef this erticle it was noted that HOBESON had
a legal suit pending in the United States District Court for the District of
Colunbia ageinst Secretary of State DEAN ACHFSON because of the action
taken by the State Department in 1950 in validating ROBESON'S passport.

8-16-51, on Pege 6, column 2, Carried a short article, headlined "ROBESON
FILES VISA APPRAL". This article indicated thet the subject "yesterday
cerried his passport fight to the United States Court of Appeals". A check
of the general docket of the United States Court of Appeals for the District
of Columbie, Docket #11030 reflects that notice of appezl wes filed for
PAUL EOSESON, Appellant vs. DFAN G. ACHFSON, Appellee on 4-23-51 on civil
action 5500-50, whose date of judgeuent wes April 20, 1951, before Judge
WALITH me. GAS TIAN.
A check of the docket of the United States Court of Appeels on
December 5, 1951, reflects that this case is still pending and has not yet
