Robeson's Concert in Moscow
Moscow (PAP) - June & ~ Paul Robeson, distinguished
Negro singer, gave his first concert at Techaikowsky Hall in
Moscow.
He was given an unusually cordial reception \by the
public, The ovation for Robeson reached its climax when he
commented on the songs in Russian. The song about the Vereen
Ghetto was enthusiastically received by the audience. :
The Soviet press commented profusely on the concert
and on the singer's biography. It depicted Robeson as 8
fearless warrior fighting for freedom and democracy and
devoted friend of the Soviet Union.
