report with a view to its possible admissibility in an extra—Judicial
proceeding or in crcoss-examination in a Judicial proceeding:

In the August, 1936 issue of “Soviet Russia Today"
there is an article written by HEN DAVIS, Jr.e, concerning his interview
with PAUL ROBESON. In this arttvle ROBESON is reported by DAVIS to
have said, “The Soviet Union is the only country I've ever been in where
Itve felt completely at case, I've lived in England and America and I
almost circled the glebe — but for myself, wife and son the Soviet Union
is our future home.
Lad For awhile, however, I wouldn't feel right going there
to live. By singing ite praises wherever I ge, I think I can be of the
most value to it. Itts too easy to go to the Soviet Union, breathe
free air and live happily ever afterwards.”
ROBESON further stated in the interview, "Of course
I'm a mouber of the Friends of the Soviet Union in Lomion, But I'm not
very active because I'm away so frequently either singing or ecting.
