Concerning the International Women's
Day, a column in "The Worker" of
March 8, 1959, on page 9, entitled
"How lity Began" by ELIZABETH GURLEY
FLYNN”stated in part that March, 1960,
will mark the 50th anniversary of
international Women's Day.
The article went on to explain that L ‘Dp
the day was so designated by a vote of
Gelegates at the International socialist
Congress held in Copenhagen in 1910.
it was stated further that the day is
not celebrated in the United States
to the extent that it is in other
countries, especially the Socialist
countries,
On advised that
ELIZASETH GURLEY FLYNN was elected
National Field Organizer of the CP, USA
at a CP National Committee meeting held
on June 28, 1958,
