information reflecting that the CP felt that help
should be extended in building a "united front
civil liberties organization" in the United
States which, while not led by the "Left", would
contain labor, liberal and "Left Forces" within
it in a commonly agreed program, including
defense of the rights of Communists.
The information further indicated that the CP
felt that this aim can best be achieved by
helping the ECLC to become a national orrani zation
with local chapters operating on the basis’ of
its program.
The headquarters of the EOLC is located at 421
Seventh Avenue, New York City.
The "Datly Worker" issue of June. 20, 1656, pace four,
column three, contained a letter entitled "Robeson's Passport
Case" by-lined "William L. Patterson." This letter compliments
the "Daily Worker" for its angry reaction to the decision of
the United States Appellate Court in the PAUL ROBESON passport
case and notes that this passport fight is a struggle to
