received by the NYO with two sets of the HCUA publication
entitled, “Investigation of the Unauthorized Use of United
States Passports ~- Parts 1,2,3 and lL."
In accordance with Bureau instructions concerning
the review of HCUA testimony contained in Bulet dated 6/8/83
captioned, “Un-American Activities Committees," subject's
testimony before the United States House of Representatives,
Sub-Committee of the Committees on Un-American Activities at a
public hearing on 7/12/56 at Washington, D. C. has been
reviewed.
In answer to questions concerning his Communist
activities, past and present, the Sub ject repeatedly invoked
the Fifth Amendment.
Subject is a Key Figure of the NYO and is carried
on the SI of this division. Pertinent parts of subjectts
testimony at the above hearing will be incorporated into the
next investigative report submitted re subject. -No further
action relative to subject's appearance before the HCUA is
being taken by the NYO at this time.
