In part, the article quoted PAUL ROBESON as atating, in __ c mnection with the non-Comnunist affidavit requirement, "Of course I won't signs...eI consider it to bg an invasion of every Constitutional liberty I have". The "Daily Worker” issue of Aucust 19, 1955, page three, column four, contained an article entitled, =ROBESON Says Hetd Gladiy Join United States - Soviet Cultural Exchange", This article stated that PAUL ROBESON was highly gratified by racent reports from the Soviet Union isting him as one of the American artists whom Soviet cultural leadera would like to have included in a program. of cultural exchanece with the United States, The article atated that ROBESON d@aecribed as ; completely unfounded?® a oo. wire service dispatch on August 16, 1955, indicating that he did not intend te visit Russia again.
